Joseph Sameh is a healthcare entrepreneur with more than 30 years experience in healthcare patient-to-provider communications. He is a recognized industry leader, author and speaker. His unique contributions to better patient access and enhanced management of the process are widely recognized.
Sameh has helped develop, build and grow a number of medical practices. In 1976 He was part of the pioneering effort that created the first podiatry practice in New York marketed as sports medicine.
He co-founded American Mediconnect in 1985, a call-center exclusively serving the needs of healthcare providers. Success extended to the hospital sector where Sameh consulted with Chicago hospitals like Columbus, Northwestern, Rush, Weiss and University of Chicago. Sameh helped many hospitals develop standard level response and escalation including University of Chicago, Weiss, Gottlieb, St. Elizabeth, Evanston, Glenview and Highland Park Hospitals.
By 1990, Sameh had conceived and was testing a new model for improving the speed of patient recruitment into clinical drug studies. His pioneering concepts evolved into PhoneScreen an industry leading patient recruitment call center that utilized a new model for subject recruitment. Reporting dashboards were designed and fed with converged data from multiple sources and systems. This real-time on-line reporting gave PhoneScreen’s clients the ability to reduce clients’ subject recruit advertising cost by mid six figures on many Phase III studies.
While working on techniques to identify and track disease outbreak in real time, Sameh devised a method of providing 24/7 real-time patient access, response and support to web-based patient originated medical messaging The United States Patent and Trademark office issued a patent to Sameh for his work on patient portals. Client successes of the patented technology include enhanced new patient acquisition, reduced staffing needs and more than 97 percent patient satisfaction for users of the technology.
